Fulani herdsmen kill 12 in Rivers due to missing cows



Ohali-Elu town in Rivers state was left in disarray following an attack perpetuated by Fulani herdsmen on the community which left a pastor and 11 others dead. It was reported that the herdsmen invaded the community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area On Wednesday, March 30 after a burial ceremony.

Khanzadi’s mother notified the police when she failed to receive any response from their house the morning after the wedding. Meanwhile, sources in the area speculated that Qalandar Bux killed the bride because she was “not a virgin”, while others claim that a heated argument erupted between the newly-wed couple regarding a delay in the wedding ceremony due to certain customs. FG declares state of emergency over fuel scarcity

 The federal government has declared a state of emergency for fuel products – The news comes as filling stations remain barren – The crisis has been ongoing for months In a desperate move to end the ongoing fuel scarcity, particularly of premium motor spirit, (PMS), the federal government has declared a state of emergency for petroleum products distribution. This means private operators in the country now have the responsibility to bring in 60% of the scarce commodity in the second quarter import allocations. According to Vanguard, for Q2, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) 44% allocation to Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA); 40% NNPC/PPMC; and 16% was allocated to Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN). Petroleum cargoes are to be treated as essential commodities, with all the regulatory agencies – DPR, PPRA, put on the alert,” the minister said.
